Not many people can resist the gooey goodness of a brownie. There is just something extra special about a brownie with something extra inside. The following recipe is the result of experimenting in the kitchen.
It is important to note that the mixed up ingredients can be changed to just about anything you want. Do some experimenting of your own and have fun with it. The base recipe can easily be doubled.
1/4 cup margarine
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/4 cups flour
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp baking powder
Mixed up ingredients
6 bars of baking chocolate (white or dark)
Baking chips assorted flavors
Nuts (any variety)
Melt butter. Add eggs and vanilla extract, stir until blended.
Add flour, sugar and baking powder to egg mixture. Stir until blended.
Now comes the fun part! You get to create mixed up mess that is absolutely wonderful.
Pour batter into an 8×8 inch baking pan.
Break the baking bars into sections of three. Place a section at a time into the batter until you have created nine equal squares of batter. This will create nine individual brownies.
Now add baking chips, nuts and candies in any combination to each brownie. carefully swirl each section to mix in the additional ingredients (candies, etc). Be sure each brownie is different from the rest.
Bake 25-30 minutes or until brownies begin pulling away from the sides of the pan.
Cool on a wire rack. Cut and enjoy!
These brownies are so much fun to make and even better to eat. The baking bars melt wonderfully into the brownie, yet still mark each individual section. The neatest part about these brownies is that your options for mixed up ingredients are virtually limitless.
This is nice go to recipe for families who cannot agree on what should be in brownies. It is also great for offering a little variety on “plain old brownies”. Make up a couple of batches for kids birthday parties or your next tailgate party.
